Community Development Administration seeks GIS Engineers for collaborative municipalities

The Community Development Administration offers creative dialogue, a fast-paced environment, solution-oriented working methods, and gives you the opportunity to drive and participate in evolving community development processes. We are a collaborative administration between Hällefors, Lindesberg, Ljusnarsberg, and Nora municipalities, with a broad mandate within the municipalities' community development processes.

The administration consists of two main areas of operation: technical operations, and construction and environment.

2 position(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a GIS Engineer, together with our current GIS Engineer, you will be an important support to the administration and our four collaborating municipalities. Together, you will drive the development of GIS work and contribute to creating efficient and user-friendly solutions that support the operations.

In this role, you work with creating, managing, and further developing services based on the ESRI platform. You participate in or lead projects within the community development area and actively contribute to increasing knowledge about GIS in the municipalities. The tasks are varied and include, among other things, updating geodata, developing applications for operational needs, managing internal and external web maps, GIS analyses, and creating special maps. You also work with the operation and management of the geographic information system and provide support and training to colleagues in the use of GIS.

We use Sokigo as our business system and are currently undergoing a gradual migration to ArcGIS Enterprise. At the same time, we are working to develop, digitize, and streamline community development processes. Here you have the opportunity to influence both working methods and future solutions.

You will belong to the Construction and Geodata Unit, where 17 employees work in areas such as building permits, GIS, surveying, and housing adaptation. The unit plays an important role in the community development process and contributes specialist competence in several areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have an educational background with a focus on GIS from a university, college, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

You have previous work experience within GIS and have gained knowledge or experience through your work in one or more of the following systems and tools: ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, Sokigo, FME Form, or FME Flow. Knowledge in SQL, Python, or HTML is also relevant for the role.

We are looking for you who like to analyze, drive development forward, and have good problem-solving skills. If you are skilled at planning, taking initiative, and driving work independently, this is a role for you.

You are meticulous and solve your tasks with quality. Service is important to you, and you communicate in a clear and positive manner. You have ease in expressing yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Since the role involves providing support and spreading knowledge within the organization, you are pedagogical in your communication style and find it easy to collaborate with others. You are helpful and enjoy contact with both colleagues, operations, and the general public.

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent.

Union representatives can be reached via the municipality's switchboard, phone 0581-810 00. We only accept applications via Public Jobs. We decline contact with advertisers and staffing/recruitment agencies.

Lindesberg is characterized by a positive and strong belief in the future. We invest in the future and want to grow. We are looking for engaged employees who want to be part of developing Lindesberg. Collaboration is a key word, and we want to strengthen it in every part of our organization. Today, approx. 2,100 employees work with various assignments to provide inhabitants with good service of high quality. Welcome to develop further with us!
